The Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce's Latino Business Excellence Awards Gala is your chance to "honor all Latinos in Wisconsin."

The keynote speaker is Ambassador Claudia Franco Ifuelos, appointed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Mexican Consulate Milwaukee.

“We’re also looking forward to hosting a great VIP reception so people can network and get people back into the gala celebration mode,” says Cavazos.

This is the 13th annual gala and the 19th year of the organization, which was founded in 2003. with a mission to maximize job creation.

Part of that maturity is The Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce helps organizations expand their reach, hire more staff, and support the most needed businesses within the state’s Latino community. Governor Tony Evers awarded his $3.4 million grant to the Latino Chamber of Commerce earlier this year from the state’s diverse business assistance programs.

“Everything at the Chamber of Commerce has been very busy with new building and property acquisitions,” says Cavazos. “It’s been a very busy time of year. Not only do we have a capital campaign to kick off at the gala, but we need to coordinate more support.”

Small businesses really came out this year to support the Latino Chamber of Commerce, adds Cavazos.

“Usually we have big corporate sponsors that invest in meeting rooms and events, but this year it’s amazing how small businesses really made us succeed — small businesses,” she says. “This year over 60 of her small businesses sponsored our gala.”

Cavazos said he expects more than 700 people to attend the event. There are only a few tickets left.
