The Architecture Drawing Prize 2022 Now Accepting Applications

The World Architecture Festival (WAF) has announced the Call for Entries for its 6th Annual Architectural Drawing Awards, organized in partnership with Make Architects and the Sir John Soane Museum.

Launched in 2017, the award was established to honor and showcase the art and skill of architectural drawing.

In the spirit of the work of the great architects of the past, from Palladio and John Thorne to Le Corbusier and Cedric Price, the Architectural Drawing Prize examines how drawing continues to advance the architectural art of today. A platform for exploration. Recognizing the importance of hand drawing, we welcome the creative use of digital tools and digitally created renderings.

The WAF is looking for entries of all kinds, from conceptual drawings to technical drawings, construction drawings, sections, perspectives and everything in between.

Architects, designers and students from all over the world can enter the competition in the hand-drawn, digital and hybrid (a combination of the two) categories.

Entries across three categories will be judged on their technical prowess, originality of approach, and ability to communicate architectural ideas. Bruce Boucher, Director of the Sir John Soane Museum of Art, said: “The Sir John Soane Museum is pleased to partner with Make Architects and WAF to host the 6th edition of The Architectural Drawing Prize. The event has become a showcase for the best of modern draftsmanship across media, it remains central to architectural practice today, and the Thorne Museum of Art is the right place to display both prize-winning and commended work. .”

The deadline for all submissions is September 9th. Finalists and winners will be decided in his October and from 30 November 2022 he will be exhibited at the World Architecture Festival in Lisbon until 2 December.

The 2022 overall winners were announced at a preview of The Architecture Drawing Prize exhibition at the Sir John Soane Museum from February 8 to May 7, 2023, and were selected as winners and finalists. Works will be exhibited.
