
Emily Bertram has moved to the role of Director of Marketing and Communications for the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce.
Bertram assumes this new role after six years as Marketing Manager for Visit Greater St. Cloud. While there, she won the Midwest Travel Network award for best social media destination campaign.
As Director of Marketing and Communications for the Chamber of Commerce, he manages advertising and marketing programs including social media, all written communications, and Business Central magazine.
SCSU wins training grants to use in Grede Casting and SCR
St. Cloud State University received a $550,000 training grant from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development to partner with local businesses to enhance workforce knowledge and skills.
SCSU partnered with Grede Casting to receive a $300,000 Minnesota Job Skills Partnership grant and SCR (formerly St. Cloud Refrigeration) to receive a $250,000 Minnesota Job Skills Partnership grant. The grant is aimed at customized training to help companies stay competitive and meet future demand, he said in a SCSU press release.
St. Cloud Technical and Community College, Ridgewater Community College and Hennepin Technical College are also involved in providing customized training.
Six members join the board of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation
The Central Minnesota Community Foundation has four new members on its board and two new leader board members.
Hada Ibrahim, Kathy Juilfs, Julie Lunning and Todd Zaun all started their three-year terms in July. Ibrahim is the founder and president of Filsan Talent Partners. Juilfs is the president of AIS Planning. Lunning is Chairman of the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce. Zaun is President and CEO of Farmers and Merchants State Bank of Peers.
New leaderboard members are Antionette Lee and Tajudeen Popoola.
