Over 80 Artists Join Brunswick Outdoor Arts Festival

The 16th Annual Brunswick Outdoor Arts Festival turns downtown Brunswick into an outdoor art show on Saturday, August 20th. Hosted by the Downtown Brunswick Association, the festival aims to celebrate and promote the arts and culture of downtown Brunswick. .

For the second year in a row, festival organizers Keith Garovoy and Roxanne Lachet will space exhibiting artists’ booths further apart to alleviate congested areas around the displays. Exhibiting artists will be set up on main street sidewalks and town malls (parks). The festival will feature 76 exhibiting artists, 8 demonstrators and 10 specialty vendors. Art, music and fun activities for the whole family.

The Brunswick Outdoor Arts Festival features live music on the main stage in front of Bank of America.

The event will also feature a variety of musicians including Jimmy Joe and Jumbol Ayuz (Cajun), Backwoods Road (Bluegrass), Liza & the Erratics (Swing and Jazz with Liza Constable) . A variety of roving musicians perform throughout the festival from noon to 5 p.m., playing bluegrass, blues, Irish, folk, and Americana music.

More children’s activities have been added to the festival, including face painting and glitter tattoos by Party Palooga. “Netty Loops”Hula hoops with bubbles, music and instruction in hoop tricks, including “Hoop Jam” designed for the whole family! In addition, there will be comical vaudeville performances and unicycle riding, as well as stilt walking and juggling by Miguel Pacheco his Gonzales.
