An anonymous man from northern Kentucky claimed $1 million in last Friday’s Mega Millions drawing.

According to the Kentucky Lottery, winning tickets for the August 5 Mega Millions drawing were purchased at Kroger’s store on Dixie Highway in Erlanger. After taxes, he plans to walk away with his $710,000 and buy a business with the winnings, according to lottery officials. Kroger will receive a $10,000 bonus on the sale of winning tickets.

The man’s winning ticket was matched with 5 white balls, but not with the Mega Ball. Even though he didn’t hit the jackpot, he still won $1 million. He bought his $20 ticket with 10 pairs of numbers and decided to let the Quick Pick terminal select his number. The first set of numbers on line A tickets wins.
