Central Indiana’s newest attraction allows players to sip tea, dine and enjoy some of the best rock, country, R&B and pop music in the area.

Play a virtual round on famous courses like Bethpage Black, challenge your friends to 21 versions of golf, or unleash your own Happy Gilmore in a long drive contest.

Pub food, cold beers and live music add to a night out or an afternoon with friends.

Back Nine Golf & Entertainment blends golf, games and glitz to provide an entertainment experience unlike any other in the region. The new center, which opened fully to the public on July 29, is his 58,500-square-foot facility centered around 75 climate-controlled bays on a three-story driving range.

Additionally, the new stadium-like space will include a 550-seat music pavilion, an outdoor beer garden, restaurant and bar space, and more.

“When developing the Back 9, we wanted the Back 9 to offer a real element of entertainment beyond just golf. Whether you are a golfer, gamer, child or parent, the Back 9 is entertainment for everyone It embodies the idea of providing entertainment and fun,” said Patrick Dugan, the company’s director of operations.

Located southwest of downtown Indianapolis along the banks of the White River and about seven miles north of Greenwood, the new Buck 9 facility helped revitalize a long-dormant neighborhood.

Company officials have dubbed it the city’s “fourth stadium,” with its massive brick façade and nets that line the towers that encircle the site.

“Developing Buck 9 near the downtown riverfront was a deliberate revitalization effort to connect the area to residents of central Indiana and beyond,” says Dugan. “The Back 9 is the kind of venue our community has not seen since Lucas Oil Stadium, and we believe it represents the beginning of great change across this part of Indianapolis.”

Golf is at the heart of the new complex. The agency has partnered with Flite Golf and Entertainment, a Texas-based company that specializes in creating a range of golf-based games for people of all skill levels.

Hit the ball and practice different shots using the Driving Range feature. To increase the challenge, score points by hitting different targets in the Bullseye game, or see whose ball you hit is most important in the Long Drive contest.

State-of-the-art golf simulation lets you play virtual versions of famous courses like Whistling Strait and Huzhou Hot Springs.

All of it with stunning views of the downtown Indy skyline.

“From seasoned golfers to gamers, Back 9 offers experiences that locals and visitors alike will enjoy,” said Zach Tharp, the company’s director of sales and marketing. “In addition, while other properties are typically located in suburban areas near strip malls and interstates, Back 9 has a unique focus on being closer to downtown.”

But while golf may be the highlight of the Buck 9, the property offers a wide variety of activities and services for all kinds of interests.

A music pavilion was created to offer weekly musical performances, with an emphasis on local groups. People can grab a drink and spread out on the ground floor seating or take in the view from above on the outdoor balcony.

At the eateries and bars in Back 9, you’ll find everything from smashed burgers to Neapolitan-style pizza, spicy tuna sushi pork and, for dessert, Indiana’s traditional Hoosier Sugar Cream Pie. People can grab cold beer, mixed drinks, wine, and other beverages from one of 12 taps throughout the facility. We offer.
