2022 Brews, Jazz, & Funk Fest presented by Fifty Fifty Brewing Company

Fifty Fifty Brewing will host the 2022 Brews, Jazz, & Funk Festival at Palisades Tahoe on Saturday and Sunday, August 13-14 from 3-8pm.

The event features over 20 breweries and live music. Tickets are required to enjoy the music at the live show on 2 stages. This year’s main stage is the event plaza. Tickets are available in advance for $20 a day, or $30 with two beers. Prices increase on the day of the event at the door.

This event is all ages and dog friendly.

No refunds. Breweries include, but are not limited to, Alibi Ale Works, Truckee Brewing Co., Deschutes, and others.

George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic at Truckee Regional Park

Late-Nite Productions and One Vision Entertainment Group will host the “George Clinton’s Farewell Tour” featuring George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic on Sunday, August 14 at 3:30 pm at Truckee Regional Park.

Advance tickets to the event are $60 and available at New Moon Natural Food in Tahoe City and Truckee, Recycled Records in Reno, and The Buttermuffin in South Lake Tahoe.

Tickets are also available online and are $10 higher on the day of the show.

Funk legend George Clinton heads to Truckee on a farewell tour with the latest edition of Parliament Funkadelic, including his son, daughter and grandchildren.

Wednesday Live Music at Jake’s on the Lake

Jake’s on the Lake in Tahoe City offers free live music from 8pm to 9pm for the month of August. We will have a surprise live guest on Wednesday, August 17th.

Northstar will be offering highlights of local breweries around Truckee and Lake Tahoe on Saturday, August 13th from 3-7pm at Signature Village. family and friends.

Marlet 50K and 10 Miler through Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park

This Saturday, August 13th, the Marlene 50K begins at Spooner Lake in Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park and offers 31 miles of spectacular trails and scenery.

The Marlet 10 Miler starts at Spooner and follows the North Canyon Trail.

Tickets for both runs are $110 for seniors and students, $80 for 10 miler, and $120 for 50K, $90 for 10 miler for all others.

Pre-registration is required and 50K starts at 7:30am and 10 Milers at 7:35am.

Donner Lake Open Water Swim

Join Donner Lake’s only public swim meet starting at 8:30 am on Saturday, August 13th.

The swim is sponsored by the Sierra Nevada Masters and the registration fee is $85.

The event begins at Donner Memorial State Park, and swimmers should be trained and prepared for cold water temperatures, high altitude, and long swims.

Arts for the School Truckee Mural Camp

The Arts for the Schools’ The Mural Project will host its first Youth Mural Camp on Wednesday, August 17th, and will run through August 24th. The first session on the 17th is for high school students only, the rest are open to middle school students.

The cost of camping is $50, which includes the cost of equipment. Participants will be guided through the process of designing a mural with a professional artist, learn techniques for planning a mural, and have the opportunity to complete an entire mural. Everyone is required to bring a packed lunch.

Scholarships are available and high school students can earn community service time for their participation.

This mural will be part of the structure of the new community for decades to come.

Music in the Park at the Truckee Regional ‘Salty’ Gebhard Amphitheater

Free music in the park continues at Truckee River Regional Park on Wednesday, August 17 at 6:30 PM.

The event is sponsored by Michelle Erskine Entertainment and features blues music and spending time with friends and family.
