Mitel CloudLink offers a glimpse into the future of the company's technology

The goal is to create a “thriving” communications developer community.

Mitel is launching a new developer initiative to make it easier for channel partners, technology partners, and customers to build custom applications and integrations via CloudLink, the company’s latest cloud services architecture, said officials.

Traditionally, developers used the Mitel Solutions Alliance (MSA) to build integrations. Now users can do this through her Mitel developer portal, which is connected to CloudLink.

Created in 2019, CloudLink enables onsite or cloud customers to collaborate and deploy applications. It has over 2 million active users.

“We believe CloudLink provides a framework to organically grow a vibrant telecom developer community,” Nandi wrote in a letter to the Mitel community last April. “By enabling CloudLink on all Mitel platforms, our partners have a significant customer base to serve. The platform will be easier to integrate with other enterprise applications.”

Origin of cloud link

Innovation is often born out of necessity.

Mitel developed CloudLink because of a less-than-ideal situation. The company initially had to consolidate with an organization that operates multiple of his PBX platforms. The introduction of CloudLink removed this headache and linked his five platforms now operated by Mitel. Connecting across these platforms facilitates application development.

Earlier this year, Mitel MiVoice Office 400 and MiVoice 5000 customers were the first to get CloudLink gateways that provide access to Mitel APIs. Gateways are now available for the MiVoice Business and MiVoice MX-One platforms.

As for the Mitel developer portal, users can integrate communication capabilities such as voice, messaging, chat, and video with automated, application-driven workflows. Businesses can dramatically improve the quality of customer and citizen service, support employee collaboration, and reduce costs, the company said.

“Now all our customers can use it. Any of our partners can use it, or someone we don’t know can use it,” said Mitel CMO Venkat Nagaswamy. I’m here.

Adopting CloudLink and its API ecosystem also doesn’t mean that organizations need to overhaul their infrastructure, Nagaswamy said. Customers can integrate on-premises technologies with modern cloud platforms.

“People feel that many new applications can only be delivered on a cloud platform. It’s about making sure that the initial investment you make in us means that you get good value out of it.”
