BS Governor Koshari has come under a lot of fire for his words over the years.

He sparked controversy through his comments about the early marriage of social reformers Savitribai and Jyotiva Poule, and his statement that Samarth Ramdas was the guru of Chhatrapati Shivaji.

During the previous Maha Vikas Agadi regime, Koshari was at the center of the storm many times due to his war of words with political leaders.

On March 3rd of this year, he faced a flurry of criticism over his disparaging comments towards social pioneers Jyotiva and Savitribai Pule. His derisive tone when referring to child marriage was denounced as a “violation of propriety” by Twitter and political leaders.

Koshari said, “Savitribai got married when she was 10 years old. right?”

The state legislature denounced him in a tweet. disgusting essence. Koshari’s speech speaking about Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule shows Sang’s distorted way of thinking. It is a pity for Maharashtra to have a governor who does not know when, where and what to say!”

Earlier, on 8 February, he sparked controversy by claiming that Samath Ramdas was the guru of Chhatrapati Shivaji.

“Many Chakravarti (Emperors), Maharajahs have been born in this land. But without Chanakya, who would have asked about Chandragupta? “I’m not questioning the talents of Chandragupta and Shivaji Maharaj. Just like mothers play an important role in shaping their children. Similarly, The role of the guru (teacher) occupies a large place in our society.”

The governor came under severe attack from both the ruling and opposition parties.

His statement came at a time when the rift between him and the MVA government was widening. After protests and politicians granted a strong exception, he said, “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was the inspiration of the nation and from what I knew and read in the early days, Samarth Ramdas I knew Swami was his guru. But when people give me historical facts, I will further confirm those facts.”

NCP’s MP Supriya Sule then uploaded a video of party leader Sharad Pawar explaining that Chhatrapati Shivaji’s mother Jija Mata was his guru.

The strained relationship between the governor and the MVA government came to light last September when the governor called for a special session of the state legislature following the rape and murder of a woman in Sakinaka, Mumbai. . He attached the opinion of a female BJP leader requesting a special session.

But then-Prime Minister Uddav Thackeray countered, saying Koshari should ask the center to convene parliament to discuss issues related to the safety of women and the increasing attacks on them.

Thackeray said he had a “politician’s soul”, listing crimes against women in BJP-controlled states such as Uttarakhand, Koshari’s home state.

He said such “instructions” by the governor could create new controversies and damage democratic parliamentary procedures.

In October 2020, a rift between the governor and CM surfaced over the reopening of temples during the pandemic. Koshari ridiculed Thackeray’s decision to reopen bars and restaurants, not places of worship.

“Are you getting a god hunch to keep delaying reopening, or is it suddenly changing to the word ‘worldly’ that you hated? ”

Thackeray countered the Governor by saying that he did not need a Hindutva lesson from him. Thackeray said he failed to understand the governor’s Hindutva ideology after he invited someone who identified Mumbai with Pakistani-occupied Kashmir.

However, the controversy over Hindutva’s ideology is what ultimately crippled the MVA government.
