Kalamazoo, Michigan-Downtown residents and visitors now have access to easy-to-walk options for cannabis by opening the Pinkanna Dispensery at Kalamazoo Mall.

The 1,825-square-foot storefront officially opened on Wednesday, July 27, at 123 E. South St., and founding partner Rob Nusbaum told MLive / Kalamazoo Gazette.

“We are excited to be part of the Kalamazoo community,” Nussbaum said. “The area has restaurants and is a very walkable and vibrant community. It’s perfect for downtown Kalamazoo.”

He said the business is vertically integrated, growing, processing and dispensing retail cannabis. He said it helps to make them stand out.

“It allows us to control our own destiny,” Nussbaum said. “We can grow stocks that we feel are best suited for the market.”

He said the store offers about 70% of its products and about 30% of products from other vendors. The company already has other locations in Kalkaska and East Lansing.

“We can manage pricing and withstand lower pricing than other producers who are not vertically integrated,” he said. It gives you business flexibility.

They will strive to offer the lowest prices in the region for some products, but he said they will also offer higher-priced products for enthusiasts. He said he offers a small bud under the brand “The Smallz” at a low price.

The shop offers products in categories such as cannabis flowers, pre-roll joints, edible, extracts, topical rubs and ointments. They focus on service and all staff are trained to support a wide range of customers, from first-time smokers to long-time users.

“Training is meant to help experienced cannabis veterans and first-time users know nothing. They only know that they have a backache. I want something to help, “he said.

More than 15 employees have been hired as staff at the Kalamazoo location in Pinkanna. Shoppers can pre-order at or shop in-store.

Pinkanna is open 24/7 and serves customers over the age of 21 (and customers over the age of 18 who have a medical marijuana card license). Business hours are 9 AM to 10 PM Monday to Saturday and 10 AM to 8 PM on Sunday.

Customers who sign up for Pincanna Rewards for the first time will receive a swag bag (which will end as soon as it is out of stock).

Opening specials include: 69 oz The Smallz. A $ 35 cartridge bundle “outside the door” that includes two cartridges and one battery. And a $ 5 gummy.

Suitable Pinkanna strains grown on the company’s farm in Pinconing include Main Event and Des Walker, the company said. Among the products they manufacture and sell are fruit and fuel product lines featuring a variety of products, including pre-packaged flowers, distillates, cartridges and pre-wound joints.
