Brew Lab 101 Debuts Cornhole, Upgraded Patio Area Featuring Live Entertainment

“When the pandemic hit, it seemed like it was pretty clear to us that we should have gone temporary patios and the state should have allowed it,” said Brew Lab. 101 owner Scott Salvas explained. “We were able to corner a temporary patio of about 2,000 square feet, which has helped us maintain significantly during the pandemic. We were able to sweep people out there when we did it, and after using it for over a year and a half, people really enjoyed the space and decided to go ahead and turn it into a permanent facility. has become clear.”

The recently opened permanent patio features a wall for privacy about 8 feet high. The Brew Lab 101 added more lighting as well as artificial turf, cornhole and other games.

“It’s a better space now,” Salvas said. “We can add a new concrete landing to have proper[handicapped behavior]access and have room for bands. It gives us a great space to rent for our own party.”

The patio isn’t the only growth Brew Lab 101 is experiencing. The cider program has gone strong, with cider making up 30% of sales. You can also find that cider at guest taps elsewhere, including Flix Brewhouse, High and Dry Brewing, Hollow Spirits Distillery, and Enchanted Circle Brewing Co.

“We are just working to increase production as more people are asking (for cider) so we can keep up with some of the demand,” Salvas said. “Things are going really well for us. It has been a really great year and we are looking forward to enjoying more growth and expanding what we are doing in terms of production. has taken another suite in the plaza (where Brew Lab 101 is located), so we have more room to expand in terms of production area, and that will be our next big project.”

Brew Lab 101 isn’t just for cider lovers, it has a lot to offer beer drinkers.

“We have 13 beers on tap and a range of styles,” said Salvas. “[We]have light beers like our Mexican lager up to our ridiculous speed. There are six ciders on tap, so there are always at least five standards and one rotation. , the special spinning one on tap is lavender cider.”

New Mexico distilled spirits are also offered in breweries and ciders.

“We have a variety of cider cocktails that we do,” Salvas said. “Now we also sell distilled spirits. They are distilled locally, so we have a full spirits menu. We have a slushy machine so we slush cherry cider all the time and we always have one that the kids can have or the adults can slurp their favorite spirits into. It has a non-alcoholic slimy mix.”

Patrons can also introduce boba pearls to cocktails.

“It’s just a fun new thing,” Salvas said. “I just decided, yeah, we’ll try it and see what people think. I’ve never seen anyone really do (boba) with alcohol like that.” .”

Salvas describes Brew Lab 101 as a local hangout with a casual vibe.

“It’s kind of a super cold place,” Salvas said. “It’s a neighborhood, family-friendly type of brewery, so there’s a very relaxed environment when you walk in.
