Benjamin Sesco: Manchester United in talks with RB Salzburg over striker but gaps in ratings | Football News

Manchester United have held initial talks with RB Salzburg over the signing of striker Benjamin Sesco.

These discussions highlight the valuation gap for the 19-year-old, with United deciding whether to pursue a deal.

Salzburg are under no pressure to sell as they have four years left on their contract with Sesco.

The teenager has already made 13 international appearances for Slovenia, scoring 11 goals and 6 assists in the Austrian Bundesliga last season and making just 12 starts in all competitions.

Sesco was also impressive last week against Liverpool in pre-season, scoring the only goal of the game.

in an exclusive interview with sky sportsEric Ten Hag provided his thoughts on the Manchester United transfer market so far, Frenkie de Jong and Cristiano Ronaldo.

When asked if he was unhappy with the work the club has been doing in the transfer market, he said: “I’m not unhappy at all.

“First of all, we have a team and we are already making progress. We are more aggressive than we started.

“The second is the players we have now. We are really happy with them. You can already see what they can do for the team.”

“The last thing is that we know what we want. It’s not about signing players, it’s about signing the right players.”

“So we’re planning really carefully and sticking to it and working hard to get the right players together and build a good team and a team that can win games.”

As for whether Frenkie De Jong is the right player for the club, Ten Hag said: “You can’t talk about a player who is not under contract at Manchester United.”

Eric ten Haag has expressed disappointment after Cristiano Ronaldo left Old Trafford early in Sunday’s friendly against Rayo Vallecano.

Ten Hag also believes coveted striker Ronaldo fits his style.

“I think he can do it. He’s just starting, so it starts with getting fit.”

“He’s a fantastic football player and he’s proven it time and time again, but he’s always judged by what he presents and how he performs.

“So the team and Cristiano himself have to prove it.”
